12/2/2024 1 Comment Happy 2nd Day of AdventI am really enjoying reading about Mary and her journey, hearing about her hopes and dreams and reminder about how important the waiting is. I find this difficult at times, many times wishing for the next time to see someone, or the next time to relax and do nothing, but in the focus on wishing and not waiting, I lose the appreciation of the moment that I am in! Thank you, Mary, for your lessons in this. Today I am reflecting especially on question #3 What do you do when you're waiting for the answer to an urgent prayer? What do you are waiting for weeks, months, or years? The answer that comes to me is prayer, spending more time in prayer with our Lord whether in silent prayer at home or in shared prayer with the many faith filled Christians in our St. Mary(s) family!

I read before going to bed, so I am actually commenting on Day 1! While I like Emily Dickinson's poem on hope, Caryll Houselander begins her book, "The Reed of God," with a quote on hope from Job 14:7 (For a tree there is hope, if it be cut down, that it will sprout again and that its tender shoots will not cease). Like Mary, we all have hopes and for those of us who garden we prune with the hope of more growth! As it probably was with Mary, our hopes change with the seasons of our lives. As Catholic Christians, we all get to hope in spending eternity with Mary and Jesus! In thinking about Pondering #4, I think this may be part of , "hope in the Lord," as well as strengthening our trust in the Lord's hand in our lives as we continue through Advent!
